Recovery of a Lifetime is book written by Mike Reis and his son Chris. Chris Reis played for the New Orleans Saints and is most known for recovering the “Ambush” onside kick that helped propel the Saints to a Super Bowl victory over the Colts in 2010.

Their story is one of Mike’s recovery from addictions and failures, Chris’ recovery on the field and trying to be perfect, and God’s recovery of their relationships. It is a real story of what Jesus can do in a person’s life.

Wayland was fortunate to have Mike and Chris on campus to speak several times this week. I hope you were able to hear them share how God can restore anyone’s life.

Let me share two quotes from their book.

“When Chris told me that he was working with his father on a book about their lives, I immediately identified with their mission. I loved the title Recovery of a Lifetime because I read somewhere that God is the God of “re-“as in redemption, resurrection, and recovery. One of the biggest delights of God’s heart is restoring things. He understands our fallibilities.” – Jeff Foxworthy, from the Foreword

“When you choose to live for more, it’ll be the little things that make a huge difference, and even those little decisions today can and will impact those you love for generations to come.” – Chris Reis (p. 328)

Will you let God to help you recover? What do you need Him to restore? Do you want to live for more? Jesus said, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10) Will you accept His promise today?
