Dr. Marti Runnels Director - Theatre 1900

| Marti Runnels is currently the Director of Theatre at Wayland Baptist University. He has directed, written, produced and performed in over 100 productions for stage, television and film. He has performed as an actor throughout the United States and has also performed internationally, including the Edinburgh International Theatre Festival in Scotland. He is also in demand as a public speaker and vocalist, and has appeared with choral groups in the Kansas City Music Hall as well as Carnegie Hall, and is currently one track into a blues CD of his own music and vocals. Marti is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and also an active member of the Texas Educational Theatre Association, the Southwest Theatre Association and Association for Theatre in Higher Education and presents regularly at those state and regional conventions. He also serves as an adjudicator in high schools throughout Texas as part of the University Interscholastic League. He holds the Master of Arts in Communication and his doctorate in theatre is from Texas Tech University. When he is not doing theatre you can find him in the outdoors or spending time with his wife Dede and the rest of the family. |

Dr. Steven Wood Theatre Designer and Technical Director 1900 W. 7th Street - CMB 1277

| Since 2010, Steve Wood has been the Technical Director and Scenic and Lighting Designer for the Department of Theatre at Wayland Baptist University. He teaches courses in production, including Scenic and Lighting Design, and Stage Makeup. Dr. Wood has designed and directed many shows in West Texas since moving to the region in 2005. In addition to his extensive production work, Dr. Wood has also taught acting courses, performed in several productions, served as a UIL OAP contest manager, and worked as a summer program director at El Rancho de Paz in Owego, New York for nearly eight years. His wife Nicole is a popular Zumba teacher and his children, Jade and Jake, keep the family continually entertained. |
