Music Recital

 

The Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree is a specialized professional degree preparing students who desire to attain their Texas EC-12 all level music certification and teach music in public schools.

Wayland students are equipped for success in the teaching field through intense on campus instruction and field experience work. Students are actively engaged in classroom field experiences at every grade level throughout their course of study at Wayland Baptist University. 

Students gain “hands on” opportunities through the instrumental and vocal fields of public schools giving Wayland students the “edge” before their actual student teaching experience.

The faculty members directly involved in the pedagogy and methods of Music Education are highly qualified and experienced in their respective fields.  Wayland graduates are highly pursued for teaching positions in the field of Music Education.  Wayland graduate teachers are known for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to music Music Education in their particular field. 

Students also have the unique opportunity for more “hands on” experience through Wayland’s community arts outreach program, The Academy of Fine Arts (AFA)  services the local community by offering private lessons in all areas of study and a training vocal program entitled The Children’s Chorus of Plainview (CCP). This program gives Wayland music students the distinctive opportunity to serve as private instructors, teaching assistants, and program coordinators.
