At WBU, we offer a wide variety of convenient online courses. OUr online programs provide you with the freedom to attend class any time - day or night - from anywhere you connect to the Internet. Talk with your academic counselor to assure an online course is the right choice for you. Remember, online courses fill quickly, stop in on Oct 19th to register.
A New Name for an Old Degree
The Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education (BSOE) has been renamed to a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree. What does this mean? If you have an official degree plan for a BSOE degree it will not change. If you are in the admissions process or are new to the University, you will be pursuing the new BAS degree, to be sure, contact your academic advisor.

From our WBU Library you can access online books, books, articles, research guides, archives, and learn about your local library system. The purpose of the WBU Library is to provide you with the best service and access to resources that support the curriculum of WBU. To access the WBU Library, please visit www.wbu.edu/lrc/library.asp. For additional information or for help, contact lrcref@wbu.edu or call 806-459-8648. WBU librarians will answer any questions you have about online resources, look up information for you at the main campus, mail books via Priority Mail to you with return postage included, and provide other services.

Student Email Accounts
A Wayland e-mail account has been created for all currently enrolled students, and this e-mail account is now available for your use. You can get to your e-mail by accessing the following link from your Internet browser anywhere in the world: http://email.wbu.edu.
Your WBU e-mail will be used for all official e-mail communications from Wayland Baptist University, including but not limited to emergency communications, assignments and communications from instructors (both local and on Virtual Campus), financial issues, and bookstore buy-backs. Accounts must be accessed at least once every 30 days to remain valid and your account remains free even after you graduate.

**New** GI Bill
Please note that if you have BOTH Chapter 30 and Chapter 33 benefits, weigh your options CAREFULLY. If you opt to take Chapter 33 and you have Chapter 30 benefits, you CANNOT go back and receive any Chapter 30 benefits. For those using Chapter 33, we will need a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility from the VA before you can use your benefits to enroll in a class.
The Post-9/11 GI Bill is for individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill. The Post-9/11 GI Bill will become effective for training on or after August 1, 2009. This program will pay eligible individuals:

2009-2010 Financial Aid
The 2009-2010 Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available A complete FAFSA must be submitted to the Federal Student Aid Information Center requesting that the analysis be sent to Wayland. The form may be obtained and submitted over the Internet from the website: http://www.fafsa.gov. However, the student must still see the Wayland Financial Aid Advisor. All financial aid students MUST have an award letter before using financial aid at registration. All students MUST have an admission letter from the University to be eligible for financial aid. Please visit the office to obtain a Wayland Financial Aid packet. The Financial Aid Advisor can provide further guidance and information.
**NEW** Spousal Tuition Assistance
Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) Program Sponsor: Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Military
Community & Family Policy (DUSD/MC&FP)
Program Description: The Department of Defense’s expanded Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) program is providing $6,000 of Financial Assistance for military spouses who are interested in pursuing degree programs, licenses or credentials leading to careers in high growth, high demand portable career fields.
Who Is Eligible: Spouses of active duty and activated National Guard and Reserve service members.
Military spouses who are military members themselves are not eligible. Military members have education benefits provided through the Military Voluntary Education Tuition Assistance (TA) Program. Military spouses who are legally separated by state law or court order are also not eligible.
How to Get Started: Eligible spouses who are ready to explore portable careers options and develop a career goal and plan should establish a MyCAA Account by visiting the MyCAA website ~ https://aiportal.acc.af.mil/mycaa. This is an easy, self-help process. Once spouse profile information is provided, DoD will verify MyCAA eligibility through DEERS. If eligible, the spouse's MyCAA account will be credited with $6,000.
Refund Policy for Tuition
- 100% of tuition previously charged to the student account for a course will be refunded when a student drops the course: * Prior to 1st class meeting, including any classes taken online
- 75% of tuition previously charged to the student account for a course will be refunded when a student drops the course: * 1 - 4 days after 1st class meeting for terms 10 weeks or longer or before the third week of online classes
- 25% of tuition previously charged to the student account for a course will be refunded when a student drops the course: * 5 - 12 days after 1st class meeting for terms 10 weeks or longer or before the third week of online classes
- 0% of tuition previously charged to the student account for a course will be refunded when a student drops the course: * 13 days and up after 1st class meeting for terms 10 weeks or longer in length or from the third week and beyond for online classes
- A $10 administrative fee will be charged for processing each course dropped.
