Forty minutes were not enough for the Pioneer basketball team to play at Oklahoma Baptist, they had to take it a little further. The Pioneers defeated the OBU Bison, 91-86, in overtime on February 5.

Sophomore guard, Kendall Webb, lead all scorers with 30 points. In addition to his career-high points, Webb also dished out five assists.

Danny Storey, a freshman redshirt from Canyon, recorded a double-double, with 12 points and team high 10 rebounds. Also scoring in double figures were Clifton Clarida and DeJuan Davis, with 17 and 11 points, respectively.

With two players fouling out and two more having four fouls each, the Pioneers had to step it up and rethink their defensive and offensive strategies.

“Everyone can play more than one position,” said Webb, “so we can go to a small line up if we need to because we are so deep.”

This game brought the Pioneer conference record to 5-7 and their overall record to 15-8.

“Winning a game at somebody else’s house is something you’re not supposed to do,” said Webb. “This is big momentum, and now we just have to get focused and make a run.”
