RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Assistant Coordinator of Accounts Receivable is responsible for assisting the Coordinator of Accounts Receivable in all aspects of accounts receivable.

SPECIFIC TASKS
AND DUTIES:

1.  Post scholarships, cash receipts, charge credits and various other transactions to student accounts.

2.  Reconcile accounts receivable and student accounts payable to the general ledger.

3.  Prepare and post journal entries related to accounts receivable.

4.  Process various reports monthly related to accounts receivable.

5.  Assist in posting and reconciling government payments to student accounts from various branches of the military.

6.  Help with registration of students.

7.  Monitor and review dorm and meal charges on student accounts.

8.  Assist external campus personnel with questions and various matters related to student accounts.

9.  List and review codes in Power Campus, WBU’s student accounts software system, for accurate posting of charges and crediting of receipts.  

10.  Assist the Coordinator of Accounts Receivable in supervising student workers.

QUALIFICATIONS: A commitment of Christian Higher education and in agreement with the purposes and philosophy of Christian higher education as promoted by the Baptist General Convention of Texas in general and Wayland Baptist University in particular.
Education, Certification and Licence: 1.  High School or GED required.  

2.  A college degree in a business field is preferred, but not required.

Experience & Knowledge:

1.  One (1) year experience with a computerized accounting system and personal computer skills are required.

2.  One (1) year of experience in a customer service environment is preferred, but not required.

Skills & Abilities:

1.  Exercise excellent phone etiquette.

2.  Possess strong organizational skills.

3.  Display excellent verbal and written communication skills.

4.  Devote attention to detail oriented tasks.

5.  Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills.

6.  Knowledge of MS Office such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

7.  Demonstrate the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.

8.  Able to work collectively with administrative team associates.

9.  Be punctual.

10.  Must be customer service driven.

11.  Be able to multi-task.

12.  Anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters.

13.  Demonstrate professional appearance.

Additional Requirements:

Must have no delinquent or defaulted items on Credit Report.  A credit check will be conducted to insure the requirement is met.
