RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Receptionist provides professional and courteous first point of contact with WBU-Anchorage Campus for the Valley Center.

SPECIFIC TASKS
AND DUTIES:

1.  Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff.

2.  Provide friendly customer service at the front desk.

3.  Maintain current student information packages and brochures in foyer.

4.  Schedule appointments for academic advisors.

5.  Assist with office secretarial needs:  written correspondence, course evaluations, term schedules, etc.

6.  Distribute and collect course evaluations.

7.  Maintain student files.

8.  Assist with graduation.

9.  Assist with registration and book sales.

10.  Receive student payments.

11.  Process registrations and add/drops.

12.  Coordinate communication with Virtual Campus.

13.  Process weekly basic mail to the Plainview Campus.

14.  Processing of online applications and inquiries.

QUALIFICATIONS: A commitment of Christian Higher education and in agreement with the purposes and philosophy of Christian higher education as promoted by the Baptist General Convention of Texas in general and Wayland Baptist University in particular.
Education, Certification and Licence:

High School Diploma or GED.

Experience & Knowledge:

1.  Customer service experience.

2.  Experience in a professional office setting.

Skills & Abilities:

1.  Must possess excellent customer service skills.

2.  Possess strong administrative skills.

3.  Juggle multiple tasks is essential.

4.  Demonstrate commitment to the mission of the university.

5.  Possess good PC skills and experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

6.  Possess good verbal and written communication skills plus good listening skills.

7.  Must be detail-oriented and have good organizational skills.

8. Understand and interpret personnel policies and procedures.

9.   Ability to prioritize tasks. Flexible and available to work extended hours as needed.

10. Follow directions and work cooperatively with others.

Additional Requirements:

1. Must be able to pass Background Checks.

2. Must have no delinquent or defaulted Student Loans on Credit Report.

3.  Must reside in Anchorage or surrounding community, Alaska.
