University Store


Director of the University Store and Assistant Manager/Textbook Coordinator


The Virtual Campus Textbook Manager oversees all aspects of Virtual Campus Textbooks and Merchandise Sales.  


1.  Works with the Textbook Manager, Virtual Campus Personnel and faculty to determine the textbooks for the virtual campus.

2.  Upon receipt of textbook orders for the virtual campus, the Virtual Campus Textbook Manager enters the data into the bookstore software management system and makes buying decisions.

3.  The Virtual Campus Textbook Manager will determine which textbooks to return to publishers.  He/she will enter the data into the bookstore textbook management software and prints chargeback return forms to send to publishers with the overstock textbooks.

4.  Receive and process Virtual Campus Invoices/Credit memos.

5.  Perform duties of assisting customers, receiving shipments, and corresponding with the virtual campus director and virtual campus customers via email/phone/postal.

6.  Process sales orders of Virtual Campus textbooks, supplies, miscellaneous gift items and shipping these sales.

7.  Formulates and/or implements policies in relation to the operations related to the Virtual Campus Textbook operations.

8.  Assist in resolving problems as they arise related to the Virtual Textbook area of the University Store.

9.  Some Saturday and evening work times.

QUALIFICATIONS: A commitment of Christian Higher education and in agreement with the purposes and philosophy of Christian higher education as promoted by the Baptist General Convention of Texas in general and Wayland Baptist University in particular.
Education, Certification and Licence:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience & Knowledge:

1.  One (1) year successful experience in an office setting showing a degree of administrative responsibility. 

2.  Experience in the development and maintaining of websites.
Skills & Abilities:

1.  Excellent communication skills both oral and written.

2.  Excellent organizational skills.

3.  Computer competent with knowledge of Microsoft Office.

4.  Appearance, punctuality, dependability, integrity, honesty, and loyalty in the performance of the position.

5.  Ability to respond, in a timely and effective manner to assignments.

6.  Success in responding to emergency situations and working with other professional staff to restore essential services in a timely manner.

7.  Professional and friendly conduct with administrators, students, faculty, staff, vendors, and the general public.

8.  This person needs to project a positive force in the store by portraying a positive attitude toward other personnel, in phone conversations, and customer service.

Additional Requirements:

Must have no delinquent or defaulted Student Loans.  A credit check may be conducted to insure the requirement is met.
