Wayland Baptist University is pleased to provide this net price calculator as a guide to assist in early financial planning for college. Obtaining Financial Aid is quite simple, just follow these steps:

Number 1 Step 1: Fill out your FAFSA. You may complete your FAFSA online and for FREE!!!
- Make sure to use WBU’s school code (003663)
- Complete the FAFSA for the correct school year

Number 2 Step 2: ALL Plainview students MUST fill out an Institutional Application each year.

EXTERNAL students need to fill out an Institutional Application if receiving a scholarship or alternative loan.
Number 3 Step 3: IF chosen for verification, you will need to provide more information to the Financial Aid Office. Please read all emails carefully to provide what is requested. An IRS Transcript will be needed; students and parents may access this here.
Number 4 Step 4: Read your award letter carefully to see what you have been awarded for the school year. You may accept/decline aid at Net Partner.
Number 5 Step 5: If you were awarded loans and have ACCEPTED them, please complete your Loan Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note (MPN.) Loan Entrance Counseling must be completed EACH school year and the MPN is good for 10 years. www.studentloans.gov

ANNOUNCEMENTS / REMINDERS

ATTENTION: Forms for July 2014- August 2015 are now available online.  Please pay close attention to the dates to turn in the correct form.  If you have any questions, please contact the Financial Aid Office.

The following information pertains to NEW federal student loans that are originated on or after December 1, 2013:

 

Loan origination fees for both Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans increased from the current 1.051% to 1.072%.  Loan origination fees for Direct Plus loans (both Parent Plus and Grad Plus) increased from 4.204% to 4.288%. 

Parent Loan (PLUS) and Graduate PLUS interest rate is 6.41%.  

If you would like to make ANY changes to any (Federal or Alternative) loans, please use the new Loan Change Request Form.  You can find this form under Financial Aid Forms and 'Other Forms.'

The following information pertains to NEW federal student loans that are originated on or after July 1, 2014:

 

The interest rates on newly guaranteed federal undergraduate Direct Subsidized and Direct Unsubsidized loans increased from a fixed interest rate of 3.86% to 4.66%, graduate Unsubsidized loans increased from 5.41% to 6.21%.  The interest rates for the Plus loan increased from 6.41% to 7.21%.  They will remain at that same rate for the 2014-2015 school year.
