executive director and Dean'S MESSAGE

Welcome to Wayland – Hawaii! We hope that you find your Wayland experience to be a blessing to you as well as a quality experience in higher education.

In 2008, our main campus of Wayland Baptist University celebrated its 100th anniversary, and this year (2009) we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of our Hawaii Campus.  This Hawaii Campus was the first satellite campus for Wayland outside of Texas, and we are proud to be a part of that.  It is our hope that you feel a part of Wayland’s spirit, too, as you connect with WBU at any of its campuses.

There are many ways in which we ask for feedback from all our stakeholders.  For example, we do take seriously student completion of faculty evaluations after each class.  Your feedback is an invaluable component of our improvement process. I will read each evaluation to gain open feedback concerning teachers, classes, and text.. Of course, the responses to these surveys are held in strict confidence.

I am pleased with our success and look with anticipation to what new opportunities are out there for us. Our success is a direct result of the input from you, our students, staff, and faculty. I will continue to strive for ways to serve you better.

Great things are happening at WBU-Hawaii. Be a part of it. There is a degree of difference!

Aloha Ke Akua,
Dr Tod Outlaw
Interim Executive Director and Dean
