Retired WBU Chancellor among authors in book on faith
Dr. Wallace E. Davis, retired chancellor of Wayland Baptist University, is featured in a collection of 150 stories from Christian leaders and educators about faith during their student years.
Published by Andrews University Press, College Faith features a contribution from Davis in which he remembers the conflict in his heart over making a public profession of faith and how God used a professor's lecture to give him the courage to take a stand.
The book was released in July and has since been distributed to Christian colleges and bookstores across the country in great numbers.
"We published this book because we believe administrators, teachers, staff and students will be inspired by the simple faith stories people have to tell," said Ronald Knott, director of Andrews University Press. "Higher education is the time when many people make formative faith decisions for good or ill. We think people ought to read simple but powerful stories like those told by Dr. Davis."
Besides Davis, other writers for the book include the presidents of more than 60 Christian colleges, universities, seminaries and ministries. Among them are Bill Bright, founder and president of Campus Crusade for Christ; Alec Hill, president of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship; evangelist Tony Campolo; and the presidents of sister Baptist schools Baylor University, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Hardin-Simmons University.
College Faith will be available at the Wayland Bookstore.
