Wayland offering evening courses in Altus

ALTUS - Beginning with its winter terms in November, Wayland Baptist University in Altus will offer three courses at Western Oklahoma State College in an effort to make continuing education more convenient for residents.

The classes will be offered at nights three days a week, which makes working toward a degree or completing one more attainable, said Dr. Marty Akins, dean of the Altus campus.

"We're wanting to provide a local Christian education presence, which will help both traditional and nontraditional students complete their bachelor's degrees," Akins said.

WBU-Altus has been offering courses at Altus Air Force Base for almost two years, offering bachelor's degrees in business administration and occupational education. By beginning to expand their offerings into the city, Wayland is giving students who may not be military personnel access to the Degree of Difference that is Wayland BAPTIST UNIVERSITY.

For information about beginning a degree with Wayland or transferring after completing study with Western Oklahoma State College, contact the campus office at 481-5243.
