PLAINVIEW - Wayland Baptist University will host a special guest clarinet recital at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30, in Harral Auditorium. He will present a lecture and demonstration at 11 a.m. Both performances are free and open to the public.

              Dr. F. Gerard Errante is a clarinetist of international stature whose has performed in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, China, Korea, Japan Singapore, Africa, Cuba and the South Pacific. A native of New York, Errante earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Michigan. Dr. Errante has written two books and composed nine works for the clarinet, as well as regularly contributing to journal articles. He has been featured by numerous recording labels and has compiled several CDs and LPs of his own. Errante served as professor of music at Norfolk State University for 30 years, and currently serves as the co-director of the Norfolk Chamber Consort, a position he has held since 1972, and adjunct professor of music at Old Dominion.
