The scholarship will benefit junior or senior young ladies preparing for teaching careers in Christian schools, with primary consideration given to those planning to teach preschool.

Mrs. Mansdoerfer was born in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1935. As the wife of a minister, she traveled the country and lived in many states, but remained loyal to the east, especially the East Coast seashore.

She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed music as well. She sang in church choirs throughout her life and left her mark on many Sunday School rooms with a variety of painted murals.

The mother of four and grandmother of eight, Mrs. Mansdoerfer enrolled in college well into middle age in order to earn a degree in early childhood education. She then worked as a preschool teacher and led adult women in Bible studies for many years.

An endowed scholarship is created by donations which are invested through the Baptist Foundation of Texas. Scholarships are awarded off the interest of the account, leaving the corpus intact to continue bearing interest well into future centuries.

For information on endowments to Wayland Baptist University, contact Martha Cross, director of development, at 291-3427.
