Band Concert Postponed

PLAINVIEW – The Pioneer Band’s indoor marching show “A Blast from the Past,” has been moved to Thursday, Nov. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Wayland Baptist University’s Harral Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.

The indoor marching show is a new venture for the band and will feature segments of the music that the band will be performing during its trip to Russia in May, 2006. The show is based on the traveling musical/theatrical group Blast.

The band will open with a traditional cadence by the drum line and the school song, the same sequence it will use when marching in Red Square for the Russian Victory Day celebration.

The performance will include several other pieces. The audience will be given more information on the band’s invitation to perform in Russia. Band members will also present information concerning many of the cultural and ministerial opportunities available while in Russia before concluding the evening with their signature tune People Need the Lord.

The band will accept donation to help offset expenses for the trip.
