Cutlines: wade honored at retirement reception

“Wade reception students:” Dr. Charles Wade, retiring executive director of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, visits with Wayland Baptist University students (from left) Amy Rendon of Midland, Sarah Ketchem of Lubbock and Carrie Strickland of Brenham during a retirement reception hosted by WBU on Tuesday evening. Wade is retiring Feb. 1 after nearly eight years with the BGCT, the statewide body that supports Wayland and seven other Baptist universities. According to Micheal Summers, director of church services at WBU, the reception was to give West Texas residents the opportunity to thank Wade for his support of Baptist churches and schools during his tenure.
