Dave Wilson began teaching for Wayland back in 2000. He was responsible for starting our first Criminal Justice cohorts at the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office--one of the largest Sheriff's Offices in the United States. Classes were held in the conference room of the Madison Street Jail. Within a year, classes were being offered four nights a week there. Back them he was Captain Dave Wilson. He headed up special projects for Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Captain Wilson was the force behind Tent City, Chain Gangs, and a world of other innovative and creative programs. Dave eventually became the Commander of Training. Hardly anyone knows law enforcement training and procedures more than Dave Wilson. Not only that, but he's a certified US Army Drill Drill Instructor. Mr. Wilson not only provides superb academic advising to those law enforcement related students, but he also provides academic advising at Luke AFB and downtown Phoenix. After 27 years of law enforcement experience, Mr. Wilson joined Wayland Phoenix as Assistant Executive Director. He brings an innovative mixture of academic excellent and practical applications. Students leave his class with skill sets that enable them to be better law enforcement personnel.
