FINANCIAL AID

 

Wayland Baptist Sierra Vista will be happy to assist you in securing the financial aid necessary for funding your educational goals. Our staff is trained to assist in making what is traditionally a confusing and overwhelming process as simple and convenient as possible.

Eligibility: To qualify for financial aid a student must be fully admitted to the university, seeking a degree at Wayland and be enrolled in at least 3 semester hours (half-time). Full-time enrollment consists of 9 semester hours.

Application: Eligible students can begin the financial aid process by taking the following steps

• Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This may be conveniently completed online via the following link: www.fafsa.ed.gov
• Complete Wayland's Institutional Application for Financial Aid
• Complete the Verification Worksheet
• Military families (you and/or spouse) must complete the Military Benefit Disclosure Form
• Make an appointment with a WBU Financial Aid Counselor (520-459-1610). Please bring the following documents:
  • The Institutional Application for Financial Aid (see above)
  • The Verification Worksheet (see above)
  • Your current, signed 1040 tax return
  • Your current W-2 form(s)
  • Military families will also need to provide additional documentation as follows:
    • Military Benefit Disclosure Form (see above)
    • December LES

What Happens Next? Once your financial aid packet is complete, we will forward it to WBU's Financial Aid Office in Plainview, TX for verification. Wayland does 100% verification, so the process usually takes 4-5 weeks.

Once WBU has determined your eligibility for  Federal Financial Aid (PELL Grant and/or Student Loans) you will receive an Award Letter directing you to Accept or Deny your awards. We recommend that once you do this to complete the Direct Deposit form and return to your campus
