STUDENT ACTIVITIES
Every day on the Wayland Baptist campus is a day filled with energy, excitement, and opportunities. Much of the “buzz” you will see, hear, and feel around campus is a direct result of the dedication and commitment of our Office of Student Activities. Some highlights and distinctive features of student activities at Wayland Baptist include:
Student Groups
With more than 30 student groups and organizations, you will have a wide range of opportunities to make new friends and sharpen your skills, no matter what your interests may be. Our student organizations include:
Student Government Association
The Student Government Association (SGA) provides a voice for students in the administration of the University. The SGA plays a vital role in the daily operations of Wayland Baptist, and is an excellent opportunity for students to develop leadership and administrative skills.
Student Union Board
Each year Wayland Baptist’s Student Union Board plans and oversees some of the biggest annual events and activities that take place on campus. Some of these include concerts, the Mississippi Mud Mash, Back-to-School Bingo, the Arlington Road Trip, Star Stage, and the Academy Awards.
Campus Hotspots
You will find a number of places around the Wayland Baptist campus that are hubs of student life. Some of these include Pete’s Café and Grill, McClung University Center, the Wayland Library, Hutcherson Gymnasium, Harral Memorial Auditorium, and the soon-to-be-built Laney Activities Center.
Koinonia is Wayland program that launches students, faculty, administration, and staff into the coming academic year with a bang. Koinonia is as fun and exciting as it is helpful and informative. You will enjoy family cookouts, dorm move-in activities, games, concerts, mixers, scavenger hunts, worship services, and pretty much anything else you can imagine.
