DALLAS - The Students in Free Enterprise Team from Wayland Baptist University will be competing May 23-25 in the 2004 SIFE USA National Exposition in Kansas City, Mo. after winning the regional competition in Dallas recently.
The WBU team will be among more than 180 teams from across the nation competing for the national championship and the chance to represent the United States at the SIFE World Cup in Barcelona, Spain.
At regional competition, the team was judged best at teaching people of all ages the principles of free enterprise. Wayland's SIFE not only taught free enterprise, but team members also made a difference in the Plainview community by developing projects to meet specific needs of community members. Some of those projects included computer literacy training and job interview readiness for adults and basic business skills for elementary school students.
In addition to the competition, Wayland SIFE students will have the opportunity at nationals to interview for jobs and internships during a two-day Career Opportunity Fair with representatives from hundreds of companies.
