PLAINVIEW – A special day celebrating Plainview school children and their families will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20, in conjunction with the Wayland Baptist University Pioneer Soccer team’s matchup against St. Gregory’s University.

Slated for 3 p.m. that day at Hilliard Field, the soccer game will not only feature the Wayland ladies in a conference matchup, but it will also include special activities, giveaways and other events planned for local students.

Wayland bike bottles will be given to each visitor to the game, and students 12 and under will have the chance to put their name in a drawing for special prizes and the chance to compete in crazy games during the halftime break.

“We really hope our local kids will come out, bring their parents and cheer on the Pioneers and enjoy some fun games and prizes,” said Teresa Young, director of communications at Wayland, whose department is sponsoring the event. “It’ll be a great day to have some family fun without spending any money.”

Admission to the game is free.
